Use Plan My re:Invent to help someone connect Claude Code, Codex, or Kiro to AWS Events, discuss their interests, and propose an itinerary. All of this guide’s content is free to read, with no account or API key required.
Start with the complete Markdown guide, the client setup quickstart, or the resource index. AWS operates the external MCP service at https://api.awsevents.com/mcp. The attendee signs in there using AWS Builder ID.
Read-only reference API
GET /api/v1/guide.json returns the client setup snippets, sign-in instructions, planning prompt, safety boundaries, and sources. The JSON is generated from the same snippets and prompt shown on the homepage. The OpenAPI 3.1 description defines the response fields.

Requests and errors
The reference supports public GET and HEAD requests. Cache responses according to Cache-Control, normally five minutes. There is no application-specific request quota; reuse cached content and back off on transient delivery errors. Major contract changes will use a new versioned path; clients should tolerate additional fields.
An unknown /api/ path returns HTTP 404 and application/problem+json, including type, title, status, detail, instance, and recovery links in resources. Content requests with Accept: text/markdown receive Markdown on the homepage and for missing pages; negotiated responses include Vary: Accept.
Planning safely
Let the person finish sign-in directly with AWS. Read their current schedule, ask about preferences, and propose changes for approval. Apply only approved changes through AWS Events, then read the schedule again and check each result. The reference API provides setup text; attendee data and schedule operations belong to AWS.
